In WA most children attend Kindergarten on a school site although a small number may attend a program offered through a child care service. Kindergarten is not compulsory although most children in WA attend on a regular basis.

A Catholic Kindergarten endeavours to provide a learning environment that is concerned with the development of the whole child. The program offered to children at Kindergarten is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and is delivered in a play-based environment. Kindergarten provides a sound introduction to schooling for children and sets the foundation for future school learning.

As per universal access requirements Catholic schools offer at least 15 hours of kindergarten per week. Many schools offer additional sessions.
