ArtsEdge has been developed under a cooperative agreement between the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts and the U.S. Department of Education. Features include a news section; links to Internet sites worldwide (submitted by teachers and students across a range of subject areas); a curriculum studio with standards, frameworks, and guidelines for designing curriculum materials, programs for the arts and examples of best practice. There is also a student section and community centre containing information about ArtsEdge Chats, Bulletin Boards, Listservs and a TeachersÕ Networking page.

An online service supported by the Getty Education Institute for the Arts, ArtsEdNet contains lesson plans and curriculum ideas developed by teachers across a range of age levels, image galleries, an email discussion forum (ArtsEdNet Talk), links to Internet sites worldwide (categories include art education, museum collections and general education issues) and an exhibition of student artworks. Other features include an online exhibition looking at the art of Ancient Greece and Rome and a virtual tour of the Forum of Trajan in Rome.

The Publications section of the site contains full-text papers on topics such as the National Drug Strategy and National Health Strategy. The papers provide useful background information for teachers and secondary students researching health and drug related topics.

Although American, PE Central contains many practical lesson ideas for Physical Education teachers at all levels.
